Nov 6	comment	What's the difference between consumer and pro audio music equipment? @leftaroundabout I kind of glossed over this but as I understand it, the real problem is the speaker cones, rather than the amplifier hardware. Supposedly (haven't run into this myself yet) it's possible to tear some cones by running a hot signal with a lot of bass through the amp. If you have a line-in jack on the amp, you can assume the speakers are designed to handle it. I don't have a good reference for this though.
