"If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence."

There's quite a detailed answer over at unix.SE now. It may suit you. Let me know.

Plenty of messages. It may be helpful to see how people found the messages in Geogaddi and emulate what they did.

Listen to Geogaddi. There are plenty in there.

I've posted this up at the unix.SE. Hopefully they'll be able to help you out.

OK, I'll formulate a question linking to this one and see what they can do. Due to the nature of the site, they'll only be able to comment on OS X and Linux. They'll probably need a little more info too but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Can you tell me what you plan to record from? Then I can ask this question over at the unix.SE and they'll be able to come up with some answer for sure.

I'm pretty sure a *nix nerd could devise a way to pipe the stream to /dev/sr0. The trick would be to work out what the stream would be. Might be worth asking this on the unix.SE.

You're too kind. :) I'm interested to see if someone has some idea on this too.

I haven't, but I haven't been searching them out. What I notice is that there are a lot of DIY guides. Most probably because the darned things are so expensive for what you get. Anyone else know anything about these iso boxes?

I actually don't know too much about this. I do know that some users of Apogee's Symphony were having some problems with fan noise.
