Why do some musicians/groups create a last track with tons of silence in the middle? Another thing some bands did was burn 99 tracks on the CD, the album first, then a hidden track on one of the remaining blank tracks. I think The Stone Roses did that on one of their albums. |

Why is learning how to use DAWs appear more difficult than Video editing programs? 0 count's too though right? Think of all the awesome hardware that would be lost if you took away MIDI :-D |

Why is learning how to use DAWs appear more difficult than Video editing programs? Yes, I totally agree, learning a physical mixer would help immensely with the process. The above is kind of a "how long is a piece of string" question, it's very difficult to get a grip on what a music production suite is when starting from scratch. It doesn't click at first, that when you start using something like Logic or Cubase, Ableton or whatever, you're basically looking at the entire music industry on your computer, throw in a blog and the ability to publish straight to iTunes or Beatport and you would literally be looking at the entire music industry on your pc. |

Why is learning how to use DAWs appear more difficult than Video editing programs? perhaps I should have asked what type of music you want to make before I answered below. Anything in particular? |

Replace-recording for MIDI in Logic Pro You'll need to get down and dirty with the environment to pull that off though. I haven't used the environment like that in some time, so I can't help there I'm afraid. If I get a chance I'll take a look, but it might not be for a few days - even then I'm not sure I'll remember enough to pull it off |

Replace-recording for MIDI in Logic Pro OK, I get what you're after now. I'm not sure that's possible. I'd use the first loop method I suggested then arrange then after you're finished recording arrange the various loops how you want them, then merge the lot back to one track. I don't think there's another way. Maybe if you feed the recorded MIDI back into the channel you could achieve this. |

Replace-recording for MIDI in Logic Pro Yes, the bottom option in the same menu does what you need: "Create tracks and mute in Cycle record" |

Replace-recording for MIDI in Logic Pro There should be another option within that menu to mute the previous pass. I'll confirm when I get to my laptop this afternoon |

Garageband export volume issue. Also, if you are playing it in iTunes, doesn't iTunes have built in compression switched on by default? that compressor might be trying to average out the level of your explosion, killing the power in the process. |

Looking for a MIDI note re-mapper VST. +1 for MIDI-OX, but I quite like it.Most sequencers should be able to do this too. Logic Studio most certainly can. |
