Why does all timecode start at 1 hour? (01:00:00:00) This is correct, because typically a leader starts at 00:59:50:00 and your two pop is at 00:59:58:00 |

What is the most effective way of slowing down footage? Twixter will give you comparable results but your best bet is going to be option 2 |

How to mask out brush in After effects Yes just as I said above, apply that mask to a solid put it above the layer you want the mask applied to, then go to your layer select your track matte pull down (you may need to toggle to your trackmattes) and then select either alpha or alpha inverted |

Should I use a GoPro Hero 3 Black for recording drama? This is very true, also the GoPro is very wide, at the back of the auditorium, your stage is going to be tiny in frame...like literally less than a quarter of your screen...no pushing in will save that |

Best way to edit mashup video of downloaded movies? Post your cpu specs, this should not be happening, I really dont like FCPX I would highly recommned getting a free 30-day trial on premiere pro however, if you computer is choking on FCPX I am questioning the computer setup...Yes H264 files are ram intensive...but not that much |

Is there a good collection of examples of the different type of video cuts? As Bart said, if your looking for examples of these sort of cuts then yes check out youtube and take a look...my recommendation though would be to take a cheap class at say a community college on film/editing, you would probably learn a lot from such a class in terms of types of cuts and how to use them to tell a story. |

OGV Format plays properly on my computer but transcoding drops (duplicate?) frames Well the FFmpeg I am using is a MAC version versus your Linus version not sure but my guess is that there must be a bug with your FFMPEG?? have you tried removing it and reinstalling the latest version? |
