What does ALL-I mode mean? @DmitryPashkevich Whether it affects perceivable quality depends on which codec, mostly. What is can often mean is when pausing the video, odd artefacts appear. It is definitely more editing-friendly, however, regardless of the codec. |

I changed the .mp4 extension of my video to .mpg and it still opens and plays fine (in VLC and in Windows Media Player). Why is this so? Added "codec" as tag |

What is good software for building 2D parallax videos? After Effects has competitors - try a search (I can't think of any off the top of my head). AE would be my recommendation, any day of the week. |

Canon DSLR home-video. Need advice Another way to help with focussing is to invest in a follow focus (and the associated rig). Though, this gets expensive quickly - though still cheaper than a camera that can match a DSLR's DOF and autofocus (most cinema cameras don't autofocus i.e. AF-100. There's no need on them.) |

Motion and shape tracking in After Effects CS5.5 What end use are you hoping for? Is it a glass/reflection replacement? |

Lag during clip playback in Premiere Pro CS5 The trial, from memory, doesn't include all sequence profile/codec settings. So Premiere will be encoding on-the-fly in the background into preview files. |

Lag during clip playback in Premiere Pro CS5 @Speldosa what codec you are using as your source footage has a lot to do with this. Using more heavy-duty bit rates will create a bottleneck, I guarantee you. |

Changing position creates loss of quality in Premiere Pro CS5 Are you moving whole pixels? Moving half/partial pixels would result in anti-aliasing as the program blends adjacent pixels to make the correct colour. |

Extract section from Premiere without re-compression We need to know what @Mulvya asked, however also compression is how you export in any editor - you HAVE to "rewrite" the data into a new file (otherwise there is no new file). |

How do I 'downgrade' an Adobe Premiere Pro project file to open in older versions? This is the only method, by exporting as XML or AMA (for AVID and some other NLEs). There is no backwards-compatibility for Premiere projects. |
