Modern rock bass drum recording techniques Right, good point. As mentioned, I'd rather record the real sound only, and use a software trigger to in the mix, but you are right that you don't have to replace the sound, you can use the trigger only to enhance. |

Recognizing notes within sound? @RadiantHEx: Not really, but here is a list of the notes and their typical frequencies: phy.mtu.edu/~suits/notefreqs.html I've been a hobby musician for 30 years, so I've learnt this bit by bit, so I don't know of any good resources. Wikipedia always helps of course, but I'm sure you figure that out already. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_audio :) |

Open-source alternatives for plug-ins. Is it a problem that the API isn't "open source"? Do you have to pay license fees to use the API's, or? |

What does 'Poles' mean in relation to a filter? True, it's only relevant for LP/HP/BP filters (and filters also typically don't have a db/oct anyway). |

Adjusting MIDI latency in Ableton Live @Brad: Well it does in some versions. It's a bug in Live, quite simply. If you aren't affected by that I don't know what the problem could be. There is latency adjustment, and it works, since at least Live v4 which was the first one I used. :) |

What is “clipping” distortion? What causes it, and how to avoid it when recording audio? This is correct. Your point being...? |
