Camera for live feed-transfer to external monitor in adjacent room? As far as a digital solution goes, I like this the best, since it allows me to use a webcam. Thanks for your creativity! |

Camera for live feed-transfer to external monitor in adjacent room? @friend-of-george Thanks! But as I said above it is not optimal. I will probably try using a simple DV camera, just without tape. Sometimes older stuff is simply better for this kind of purpose. Nothing digital to mess things up. Thanks for both of your answers! I hope I did not come across as rude, it is not my intent. |

Camera for live feed-transfer to external monitor in adjacent room? @AJHenderson I realize that, but I feel camcorders such as the one you linked are not built to last. I need a camera that can be kept running for a few hours of time per instance. These are not great for that purpose. |

Camera for live feed-transfer to external monitor in adjacent room? I know that, it's the very point of my question. But what I want is not a camcorder. A camcorder is used for recording and for collecting video. All I want is a simple stream/feed. What I'm asking is if there is a type of camera that does this simply? What I want is very basic, an analog webcam if you will. Is there such a thing? |

Finding out the license of stock music that I do not know the name off I have asked the person that gave me the clip - they did not remember where they got it from. Yeah, I'm not going to use it unless I know for sure that I have the rights to. |

Finding out the license of stock music that I do not know the name off I doubt SoundHound would recognize this kind of music. But it could be worth a shot. |

Automatically cut out sections of a video delineated by a sound. So something that will look for waveform spikes? Or a certain frequency? I do not know how you would aquire this, especially not if it needs to be automated. Not unless the sounds are distinct and no other recorded audio is very similar? |

Camera mounted mic, off camera mic, or audio recorder? To summarize, I think you're safe going with just buying an external microphone for now. Just make sure that it's right for what you need (directionality and how much white noise it records among other things). On the other side, if you want good audio and with more control over it, the H1 is a good buy from what I can gather. It's also very versatile and can be used to record many different things. Though in the end, the choice is yours. :) |

Camera mounted mic, off camera mic, or audio recorder? I understand. I actually don't own either (I've tested the H4n) but am looking to buy one of them myself sometime soon. So I checked googled around a bit and found that they're fairly equal in terms of audio quality (check out both of those links). The major differences though include that the H1 feels a bit cheaper, can't record on as many channels and that you can only plug in 1 external microphone (through a stereo jack). On the H4n you can plug in 2 via XLR! |

What kind of camera do I need to record a moving object in order to do motion tracking? Not sure if that would matter much in this case. He still needs to track every single frame (even if it's done automatically), so I don't quite understand how much help a high speed camera would be? |

Camera mounted mic, off camera mic, or audio recorder? But there is definitely a difference. You could still run a risk of having camera noises appear on your audio recordings with a mic on the camera. They won't be as loud, but they'll be there. It depends on the situation you're filming, but I'd say that most of the time it's better to use an off camera microphone. Why? It's just easier to control the recording process and make sure that you don't capture anything else than what is actually needed. Just make sure your assistant handles the microphone correctly. PS. I also saw that you actually do have a headphone jack on the 6D. My bad. |
