Is it possible to encode video using the same codec and container but different parameters for different scenes? Do you know of software that allows scene/regional parameters for MPEG-2 or AVC encoding? I have read that Hollywood DVDs are mastered by a 'compressionist' who uses tools which allow such fine-grained tweaking. |

How to get FFMPEG to join non-sequential image files? (skip by 3s) I haven't tested it. I just checked the syntax for glob @ jedit.org/users-guide/globs.html and it seems that %04d won't work. However, %?%?%?%?.png should work. |

How to get FFMPEG to join non-sequential image files? (skip by 3s) That would then select all the pngs present in the folder, besides 00xx.png, whereas the OP wants to queue only the %04d pngs without worrying about numbering continuity. |

How to get FFMPEG to join non-sequential image files? (skip by 3s) How about temporarily renaming them, making the AVI and then renaming them back to the (3x-2).png scheme? Bulk Rename Utility @ bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php is a free, umm, bulk renamer. |

Footage feels “faster” when exporting from After Effects Dropbox or the ilk like WeTransfer should do. |

Footage feels “faster” when exporting from After Effects Just check that your footage has been interpreted correctly in AE. Else a short snippet from before and after AE would be helpful. |

720p 60fps playing in slow motion need real time speed? what does the OSD info say about the file? Press 'Tab' during playback and the info should pop up on screen. See the line starting with 'Frame'. And is it playing "smoothish" at half-speed, or is the video stuttering? The former would be a config/file issue whereas the latter is related to the capability of your computer. |

How to parent a mask to another element in AfterFX? If I understand you correctly, this problem shouldn't exist. The text cursor doesn't take any intermediate positions between letters. It is always stuck to the right edge of the latest character. You appear to have assigned a continuous translation to the cursor. Instead, make one frame jumps from old letter edge to new edge. Similar animation applies to the letter appearances themselves. Sorry for not tackling your Q. But, to answer it, "When you want one layer to show through a hole in another layer, set up a track matte" |

How does one edit and save clips once and reuse in multiple videos with Adobe Premiere? In the import dialog, you can choose to import the entire project or selected sequences. Just gather your reusable clips in a single sequence and import just that. Or if even that's too much, you'll have to create a sequence for each source clip and then import just that. More trouble than it's worth, IMHO. |
