Headphone cables: Coiled v.s Straight Keep in mind, a coiled guitar cable might well degrade sound quality a small amount. |

Recognizing notes within sound? Asking for "ideas" is a forum-style question that isn't really a good question for this site. Stack Exchange sites are designed to answer specific, answerable questions. This page could be useful to you: Good Subjective, Bad Subjective. You also might get better suggestions if you post a more tech-type question on Stack Overflow. |

Recognizing notes within sound? This question could be clearer. Are you asking how to recognize notes from a sound sample, or you asking for ideas because you're stuck? |

How to amplify mans voice in a noisy recording? I suspect the answer is going to boil down to using EQ cleverly, but if you can figure out how to filter out a sound source based on a comparison recording, I have a lot of live band tapes with sound source spillover that could benefit from such a technique. |

How is Automatic Double Tracking (ADT) achieved using tape delay? I thought Geoff Emerick invented it, but it was apparently Ken Townshend. |

How should I improve my singing? Are you asking how to be a better singer, or how to record vocals in the studio that sound good despite not having vocal chops? These are very different questions. (Also, there's a Musical Practice and Performance proposal at Area 51, you might consider commiting to it.) |

Old portastudio audio — can bounced tracks be separated out? I used this technique to get a bass-heavy version of the "band" track and panned it to one side. Mixed with a re-recorded version of the bass track, this actually adds a lot of depth to the recording, and allowed me to mix the original "band" track so the listener now hears the acoustic guitar more distinctly. |

Old portastudio audio — can bounced tracks be separated out? We could probably use an audio-restoration tag, could someone with enough rep please create it? |
