What is the effect of impedance on headphone sound quality? Yeah, I'm with you. Editing the answer for clarity was needed, good that you did that. |

What is the effect of impedance on headphone sound quality? @endolith: headphones, yes. But this answer says "receiving an input signal from multiple units wired in parallel", I interpret "units" as units with output, not headphones. If one unit's output want 1V while another one wants 0V, and they are connected... that's a SC. Where do I misunderstand? |

6 ohm speakers and 8 ohm receiver I saw a (modern) amplifier stating in its specification not to use 4 Ohm speakers. How common is it for amplifier makers not to put in any over-current protection? |

What is the effect of impedance on headphone sound quality? Multiple units wired in parallel? Wouldn't that short-circuit them? |

Should I use compression in live settings? @Skilldrick: correct me if I'm wrong, limiting just moves the clip limit (everything above a level is cut to that level). A compressor in its compression area has variation in output level, depending on the input level. In other words: in a out vs. in graph, the limiter in limiting area is flat. The compressor has a slope. |
