I'm a freelance multimedia designer with a background in typographic design. Slowly I started learning HTML and CSS, and I love when I see the page getting together and fortunately still love to see the result of a rendered PHP page (isn't that like magic?). Needless to say that I'm self-taught, and I love graphic and typographic design + web/interface design.
What I like, know and am learning (programming):
- XHTML 4 (learning 5)
- CSS 2 (learning 3)
- Javascript (+jQuery)
- PHP
- mySQL (basics only)
- Applescript
- Shell (basics only)
- Actionscript
- Lingo (Director, not using it so much this days)
When I'm not working I play guitar (all kinds) and ride my bicycle(s).

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? I wanted to know how to balance it when recording on the Zoom H2, not post-production. |

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? @filzilla I'm approving your answer, the steps you suggested are valuable and my solution was to tilt the recorder slightly so the left gets closer to the subject recorded. |

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? I just made test 1 and that unbalance is evident in all patterns (in 120ª the left ("inverted right") is stronger as expected). Test 3 is ok! stereo lovely. I upgraded to firmware 1.90 and it's all the same as with firmware 1.20. I'm inclined to tilt the recorder slightly so it capture the "true" stereo, but I would like to know if this is the normal behaviour of the zoom or if this is a deffect. |

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? nice one! I'll try test 1 and 3 (I have no external stereo mic), test 4 is unrelated, because I'm not worried with what I ear from the recorder, it is more with what I "see" (when recording, the channel levels, or by vieweing the file on an audio program it is noticeable). |

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? I know how to do it on a computer, I want to know if this is normal behaviour of the H2 and to "solve" it a way to balance directly on the H2. I agree that I should have noticed when under warranty and I am amazed that I didn't, it was a surprise to open the four year files and watch the left channel weaker, shame on me for not noticing. |

Zoom H2, any way to balance the stereo? @50ndr33 4 years old, but I never realised it had this "balance", I checked my first recordings and it was already like that, I know there are newer firmwares (it has the 1.20) but I stuck with the original since it worked so well. |

Tool for improving old recordings what OS? (you mentioned WAV, I suppose windows?), also to do that I suppose you will need a raw file (WAV, AIFF, ...), so the software you are looking for may do the conversion for you to a raw format automatically and probably then convert back to MP3 as you said, but, knowing this, you could already convert all MP3 to WAV and use a solution you know works well already. May take time, but IMO excellence takes time :) - FInally, I have no suggestions for a software that can do that automatically. |

How do I broadcast a live event over a phone (land) line? @Flimzy Skype is VOIP indeed, but in a peer to peer fashion (not like other VOIPs where you have client to server). |
