Connect Line Level To Mic Level I've used the schematic here: epanorama.net/circuits/line_to_mic.html Very easy to build, works decently. |

3.5 mm vs RCA for home stereo (both unbalanced) Measuring the differences between two unbalanced cables with different plugs is meaningless when you can just run balanced audio. |

Reducing latency on MIDI-over-USB Keyboard The delay you're noticing is primarily from your sound card, not from your keyboard. |

How to stream my band on uStream? I use the Zoom H4n for this... it works as a USB sound interface and has decent built-in mics. |

Neutrik XLR 1/4" Combo Jacks and Phantom Power Of course your tablet was fried. You connected it specifically to a microphone jack with phantom power on. My question was referring to the Neutrik combo jacks, and whether or not the TRS pins had phantom power, in addition to the XLR pins. But, thanks for your answer anyway. |

What equipment do I need to change a stage piano to play B3 organ? You can typically add patches to most synths. If you want a really good sounding organ, in my opinion, the only thing that comes close is Native Instruments B4. But, that would require a computer. Organ patches are definitely available for most synths, but they don't typically sound great. |

Simple recording for live broadcast, crowd mics, compression configuration, etc Thanks Dr. Mayhem. @leftaroundabout suggested using a slower configuration on the compressor, and I tend to agree with his suggestion. Can you elaborate why you would recommend faster timing? I am thinking that a 0.5 to 1 second attack and a 4-5 second sustain would be fine. I do plan on making adjustments on the fly, for those times that call for it. |

Simple recording for live broadcast, crowd mics, compression configuration, etc +1, Thanks for your input. Yes, I intend to do a separate mix at some point, but for now, this is just a proof of concept. |

What options do I have for sharing a large audio project with several collaborators over the Internet? What is the target here? Do you need to share the source files for someone else to edit? Are you looking to publish this in a format that everyone can listen to? What is your goal. |

MuseScore output to MIDI keyboard You just need to change your MIDI output device. What OS are you using? |

Where can I find the Windows 95 Startup Sound transcribed into music notation or MIDI? In retrospect, it almost sounds like they slowed down a sample of chimes. |

Where can I find the Windows 95 Startup Sound transcribed into music notation or MIDI? Yep, that's the one I'm thinking of. I'd just sit down at a keyboard and spend a minute working it out. |

Where can I find the Windows 95 Startup Sound transcribed into music notation or MIDI? Can you remind us of which startup sound you're referring to? It's been awhile. Can you link to a WAV? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it should be quick to recreate it. |

Gear needed to support Ableton or other software @NWArchitect, You can use any ASIO software synth in Ableton Live. |

Gear needed to support Ableton or other software @NWArchitect, Listen, MIDI doesn't ever get played back as audio directly. MIDI is not audio. MIDI actually doesn't have to have anything to do with audio. It's just a control protocol. So yes, Ableton will send MIDI commands to your synth, and your synth will produce the audio. |

Delta 44: can you chain a MIDI thru cable to the PCI card? Right, which is why I'm trying to figure out where he's plugging in a MIDI cable. It seems to me that he's got a breakout box for a different card that has MIDI I/O, and when he hooks this box up to his Delta 44, channels 1/2 happen to be connected correctly, but 3/4 are wired differently, and his MIDI cable is hooked up to one of the balanced input pins or something. Just a guess. |
