How do I isolate parts of a song according to pan position? I believe this would apply for any audio, not just music, and I believe you'll get a better answer on the Audio site. so I'm going to migrate this. |

How can I cut out a particular instrument in the same pitch range as other instruments I don't want to cut? Makes perfect sense, thanks. |

What should I be looking for in a low cost color correcting monitor? Shopping recommendations are generally off-topic, especially non-specific ones. |

How to amplify mans voice in a noisy recording? Ah, so you basically want to use the other recordings to remove the woman's voice from man.wav? |

Difference between microphone and line in inputs? I've never owned a sound card, onboard or otherwise, that mixed the inputs. And there's plenty of software that uses the device selected by the OS for "Recording" rather than managing things itself. |

Noise removal vs. adding bed noise For speech, I've never found the slight distortion due to noise removal bothersome. |

Sound system noise from lighting system That's a clever way to reduce the noise. I'm not sure if you could do something like what true noise-cancelling headphones do -- sample the noise (before it's mixed with your audio), invert it, and mix it in so the inversion cancels out the noise? |

Setting live levels without a proper monitor Get a cable splitter and split the final output, so you can feed it back into headphones or a monitor or something. |

What is compression and why is it used? @Agos I didn't say that's how one SHOULD compress files, but it is one way it can be done. |

Why is there added distortion when going from 24 bit to 16 bit? I've updated my answer. |

How can I get my drum and bass hihats and snares to sound correct? Edit again, it still takes a lot of work to figure out that the timing of the other drums has nothing to do with your problem. |

Why doesn't an FFT pitch filter fully 'mute' the selected pitch range? Hmm, psycho-acoustics sounds interesting ;) thanks! |

Why doesn't an FFT pitch filter fully 'mute' the selected pitch range? I believe I was, but I'm not entirely sure how Adobe Audition does it. |

How can I cut out a particular instrument in the same pitch range as other instruments I don't want to cut? Unfortunately it's not my music, so I don't have the option of working with anything else. Thanks for the answer. |

What is compression and why is it used? All he said was "related to vocal recording"; I'm not a mindreader. Vocal recordings need to be stored, and the purpose of this sort of compression is not to decrease audio quality. |
