How do I write up a shot list? I just have the free version and that comes with some basic graphics. I always draw up storyboards by hand - only used celtx this time because it was easier than scanning an image. So I couldn't really say whether or not it's worth it. Sorry mate |

How do I write up a shot list? The question is still 'How do I write a shooting script'. It would be misleading to other people if I submitted another answer and you accepted it. If you want to ask another question then I can submit an answer to that. |

How do I write up a shot list? I think what you're referring to is a Shot List. Directors use shot lists and storyboards to illustrate their vision to the cinematographers. Shot lists are fairly easy to write. Just need to write the shot number, the type of shot (eg close up), a brief description of what happens in the shot, and any other information that might be helpful. eg anchorboltstudios.com/2010/02/how-to-make-a-shotlist |

Choosing the right format/codec for export I use these guidelines when uploading to the internet: vimeo.com/help/compression. I know that's not what you're trying to do but it's a starting point. I find there is very little loss of quality and massively reduced file size. |

Are dialogues recorded separately while filming? Yes definitely. Recording each sound individually is the best way to create a soundscape. When on-set, record 1-2 minutes of atmos (atmosphere) track before or after the shoot. Just ask everyone to be quiet until you say so, point the mic at the ceiling and hit record. In your case, this would be the sound of the room with the fan that you could use to make the cuts between dialogue smoother. Crossfading them in will also help :) |

Are dialogues recorded separately while filming? That's a problem. The sound recorder needs to be aware of every sound he/she is recording. Especially if on-set audio is the only option. If you recorded an atmos track then doing ADR for that particular line might suffice. Just as long as you record the new dialogue in a room similar to the room in the scene so the voice has a similar timbre. Does that make sense? |

Best H.264 settings for low bit-rate streaming video I've never used that program but from the sounds of it, you've specified the codec, resolution and bit rate that you have/want to use, but aren't happy with the result? Don't think you can do much if you are set on those parameters... |

Are dialogues recorded separately while filming? Um, it depends, man. It depends on the location more than the type of scene, but also depends on the budget. So you are having issues syncing ADR with footage? Or you are having trouble cutting together a scene because you only have one camera? |
