comment How can I extend the ten minute video limit on a Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS?
@daviesgeek: I've never used it (yet). I do intend to, I have a T3i/600D... and it looks pretty impressive.

comment How can I find camcorders with high quality like Nikon D3100 but without its time limit?
The Nikon D3100 is not a camcorder. Are you looking for a camcorder, or any video camera, including another HD-capable DSLR, with no time limit?

@daviesgeek: That is only for certain DSLR cameras.

comment Video Booth / Video Guest Book for Events
I suspect you'd have better luck with a "camera man" who ran the equipment, and showed the preview to the guests. This camera man would delete and re-shoot if the guest wasn't happy with what they recorded. I wouldn't expect my grandmother, or my kid cousins to be able to use even a simple video kiosk at my wedding. And even if it was simple enough that they could, I suspect many would be too intimidated to try.

comment How can I extend the ten minute video limit on a Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS?
@LexFridman: There is software for some PowerShot cameras that allow you to stream video to a computer. One example (although this one doesn't list your specific model.) Perhaps with something like this, you could stream to a laptop, where your laptop doesn't have such a restrictive time limit.

comment How can I extend the ten minute video limit on a Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS?
@LexFridman: I suspect the limits < 4gb have to do with shortcuts made in the camera firmware. Either their FAT support is incomplete, or there is some other arbitrary limitation. You might be able to test the theory that their FAT implementation is incomplete by putiting a 4gb video on the camera card, and see if your camera can play it back.

comment What could be causing distortion on my MP3 when imported into Audacity?
Can you import it into Audacity in 10-minute WAV segments, then re-stitch it back together? Or can you transcode back into MP3 using another program first? Maybe convert it to 256kb or 96kb or whatever is necessary to force a transcode? (Normally I wouldn't suggest this, but for a strictly voice track--and especially as an experiment, it might be worth a try)

comment MP3 cd in car stereo
What stereo system do you have? Are your MP3s VBR or CBR? What bitrate(s) do your MP3s use?
