Video files compatibility for Adobe Premiere pro CS4 AVCHD might technically work, but decoding is so much more expensive than a decoding an editing codec, that seeking around your timeline will be very sluggish at best. You'll also be lucky if you can play multiple streams, or play effects back in anything close to real time. |

Producing DVDs that play everywhere Well, the technology exists to play both formats, but the vast majority of DVD players have been around for years. So, even when the manufacturers decide to make multi-format players (which the industry doesn't actually want them to do), most people would be forced to upgrade in order to see the benefit of this technological progress. |

How can I find specific PRO grade gear when CONSUMER grade dominates the search results. What gets to me about the word "pro", is that it's commonly used to describe the PERSON doing the work, and not the work itself, which distracts us, since the work is usually complicated enough to deserve all of our attention. |

How to playback/convert a DV4 file? Sorry, but I'm not quite standing your last comment @nuc. It sounds like you're saying that since YouTube, a service designed to handle users across the world, can understand the file, your system should be able to? Quite literally, if any service can use the file, then the people running it have put in the effort to solve all the codec issues - it didn't just run on their system as-is. If you're really looking to transcode for editing, then which program will you edit with, and which company made the equipment that recorded the files? |

Record a video without static noise The first thing you're looking for is a trim adjustment for input levels on the camera or recorder. The second thing is an XLR mic and connection, which will solve almost all 1/8" connection problems, and interference problems. |

How to playback/convert a DV4 file? How are you trying to use these files in your workflow? Transcoding may be more difficult than usual since a proprietary video player may be part of the equation. |
