The Nikon D3100 is a 14.2 megapixel DX format DSLR camera announced by Nikon on August 19, 2010. It was designed to replace the D3000 as Nikon's entry level DSLR. It was the first Nikon DSLR featuring full high definition video recording with full time autofocus and H.264 compression. This is not a full frame camera, therefor has a 1.5x magnification of the subject (100mm lens acts like 150mm). This camera can record at 1080p/24fps 720p/30fps + 24fps and 480p/24fps
