The key thing to remember about mounting any camera is stability. What makes Go Pro so attractive to many cinematographers are the many mounts available for it that fit the camera snugly on a helmet, car, surf board, or what have you. There will always be some motion when attaching a camera to say a helmet, but with the Go Pro helmet mount, you have ...

The parasites you talked about is called noise. The setting you can change to get less is called the ISO. It corresponds to the old ASA value we had before the digital age. We can't see a thing, we can only see light. That's the way the universe is built up. Same with the camera. It sees the light reflected off surfaces. So white objects reflects all light ...

I reviewed the specifications for the Samsung HMX-Q10 and have to say there is not a whole lot of information e.g., optics has no mention of "Minimum Focus Distance". So we are pretty much in the dark on the near boundary of the depth of field. (a little rant on auto-focus) Most auto focus systems have two modes: Single AF and Full-time AF. Single AF ...

I am not certain I understand why you need to shoot a scene for longer than 10 minutes. Most of the movies I make are under 4 minutes and include up to 30 or more shots some lasting less than a 1/4 second while others may last a minute. I only mention this to give you an idea what I am used to. I have both a camcorder that can shoot as long as there is ...

An XLR cable used with an adapter won't give you the audio quality that an all-XLR cable will. If audio quality is really important, I'd buy or borrow an external recorder that takes XLR cables directly. If this isn't an option, pick up an XLR to 1/8" adapter cable. I suggest taping the adapter to the camcorder so it doesn't move around much. (Mic cables ...

The 650D (Rebel T4i) does autofocus in video mode, but only with the STM lenses. Currently, there are only 2 STM lenses, a 40mm STM pancake and a 18-135mm STM. I haven't used them, but tests I've seen online show that they have decent autofocus in video mode, but still not up to par with an actual video camera. This is a good video showing how well the ...

As far as I know the Canon 650D is the only Canon DLSR that has full auto focus during video recording. Not sure about the face recognition though. Do some research on it. If you really like the DSLR look then I think this is the camera for you... especially as you'll be able to use your 85mm and 35mm lenses. I don't know too much about other camcorders ...

The usual tool recommended for this is JES Deinterlacer, which apparently has an adaptive method of finding and removing the 'smear' frames. I haven't used it myself. The reason this is an issue is that the field cadence used for PF24 is (stupidly, IMO) different from the typical telecine cadence, which is what most 'inverse telecine' algos detect and ...

Answer 3: Use XLR cables to get the audio from the PA to your camcorder. To convert the balanced PA signal to the line signal, take a passive DI-box (aka DI-unit). They are not expensive. You'll get a solid one for less than 50$ by Amazon. More info: DI-Units - Wikipedia DI-Boxes - Amazon.com

I don't have experience with that particular Samsung camcorder, but I did do some long term recording on an older Samsung camcorder. My camcorder had a time lapse mode that allowed it to capture a frame every minute or so. It would record while plugged in to A/C power. Although the camera used the FAT32 filesystem with 2GB file limits, it was able to span ...

Your best bet is going to be to mix the input from multiple microphones. If you get a simple mixer, you can have them all combined and not have to match it up after the fact. You would just leave all microphones turned up and which ever one has someone talking would play through. You could also potentially use a really sensitive mic with a device called a ...

Solved the problem... Go to: Mac System Preferences > Blackmagic Design Set default video standard as HD 1080i 59.94 CamTwist > Blackmagic HD 1080i 59.94 - 8 Bit I figured out my camera settings using the Blackmagic Media Express app, which did detect the camera. Just take a look in the app's settings to find your camera's connection settings.

From the wikipedia entry on focal length: Due to the popularity of the 35 mm standard, camera–lens combinations are often described in terms of their 35 mm equivalent focal length, that is, the focal length of a lens that would have the same angle of view, or field of view, if used on a full-frame 35 mm camera. Use of a 35 mm-equivalent focal ...

JVC was first out of the gate with an affordable consumer 4K camera. Sony is showing their first 4K "Handycam" prototype at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas... So, I think the answer is YES :)

It doesn't sound like thee is a cheap or easy way to do what you want to do. I use premiere a lot and. There are mutlicam features for Premiere that allow you to sync to tracks and edit them easily, not to do live recording and playback at the same time. If you stop and start the recording on lulls in the game where nothing is happening you will generate ...

I've got a GoPro and filzilla is right, stability can be an issue. There is the head strap mount that will fit on your head, or helmet, or even hat, and it works well. The chest mount works a bit better, more stable and it doesn't move around with your head (much easier to watch). I'm sure you could get it to work decently with the chest mount. You may ...

DSLRs don't have decent auto-focus that can be engaged during video recording. The proper way to work with a DSLR when shooting video is to plan your focus in advance of your shot. If you need to move the focus point during the shot, then your preparation will include setting up all the focus points in your shot, marking the position of each in the focus ...

I can't really say anything else beyond what Neil said...that's great info...but I'll throw this into the mix. If you're handy with electronics (or know someone who is), try making this adapter from off-the-shelf parts at Radio Shack.

On page 31 of the JVC Everio GZ-MG360BU manual it describes how you can hook it up to your TV using the A/V or S-Video outputs of your camera. http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/13/57.PDF Unfortunately the S-Video port on the HP Pavilion DV2000 is output only. How do you hook up the A/V cable to your HP when this HP laptop does not have separate ...

Regarding this part of the question: "Can I achieve this kind of dark image with my cam (or maybe it is darkened in post production ?)" This looks like post production work and Vegas can do this. There are two things going on in the video to make it look dark. One is the use of a border or frame that is feathered on the inside edge and totally black at the ...

The parasites you are referring to is actually called 'noise'. Digital noise comes from two main sources. The first being the inherent noise in the camera's sensor. This is exacerbated by heat buildup on the chip from multiple exposures or long exposures, or by having many photosites clustered onto a small chip. This is why dSLRs have less noise than ...

By aftermarket do you mean generic? I.e. a battery made by a company other than Canon? To the best of my knowledge, generic batteries won't give you a charge reading in the camera. Only original batteries will. That's just the trade off you have to live with when choosing generic batteries.

Sounds to me like your 1/4" adapter is either faulty or the wrong connectivity. You have stereo inputs, you just need to ensure they are connected correctly. Check to see whether a signal path is short circuited for one of the channels when you use the adapter, and get a different one if necessary.

Ok, so it turns out that after a large amount of research into error codes, the Error: e:31:23 means that there is a problem with the right hand side tape reel cog. It appears that the cog cannot move the spool, as it clicks a bit before displaying the error when I insert a tape. I think this can only be fixed by a specialist, but I included this answer to ...
