Context

We bought a new blu-ray player that a) can play AVCHD files and b) has a USB port

"Great", I thought. "With a USB adapter, this blu-ray player can play files directly from my SD Card". [We have a video camera that records onto SD Cards ]

Problem

However, when I popped in the USB/SD card, the filesystem browser could traverse the file structure, but not "find" any "playable" video files.

[In contrast, VLC can playtht various stream000* files directly].

Docs and Reviews

In reading reviews and documentation, I found the blu-ray player can play avchd "from disk", but does not mention playing them from "usb".

Questions

So, my questions: 1) How can I transfer AVHCD to disk so a blu-ray player can play them 2) can i transfer/convert the AVCHD files to another sd card to that the player can read them off the usb card? (i.e. write an ISO image to the sd card or something)

I'm new to HD video, btw.

Context

Blu-ray player: LG BD-670

Video camera: some cheapish canon from two+ years ago.
